Ingredients:

  • 1 kg beef, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 3 tablespoons liver spread
  • 1 pack caldereta mix
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs

Instructions:

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté the garlic, onions, and tomatoes until fragrant and the onions turn translucent.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour or until the beef becomes tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Once the beef is tender, stir in the liver spread and caldereta mix. Mix well until the beef is coated evenly. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the potatoes, carrots, and bell peppers. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked but still slightly firm.
  6. Stir in the pickle relish and season with salt and pepper according to your taste. Simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  7. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the beef caldereta and let it cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Remove from heat and transfer the Beef Caldereta to a serving dish.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy!
