Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon of kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Remove the thin membrane on the back of the ribs by lifting it up with a knife or a spoon, then pulling it off.
  3. Mix the kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and black pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs.
  4. Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 3 hours.
  5. While the ribs are baking, make the barbecue sauce. Combine the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, honey, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened and bubbly.
  6. After 3 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully open the foil packets. Brush the ribs with the barbecue sauce, then return to the oven and bake for another 30 minutes, uncovered.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
