Ingredients:
- 2 cups shredded banana blossom (puso ng saging)
- Saltwater for soaking
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 200g pork, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 chili peppers, sliced or whole
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Cooking Instructions:
- Soak shredded banana blossom in salt water for 15-20 minutes. Squeeze to remove bitterness, then rinse and drain.
- In a pan, heat vegetable oil and sauté onions and garlic until softened.
- Add pork slices and cook until lightly browned.
- Pour in fish sauce and cook for 1 minute.
- Add banana blossom to the pan and cook until softened and releasing liquid.
- Pour in vinegar and boil uncovered for 3-5 minutes.
- Add water and chili peppers, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until pork and banana blossom are cooked.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
